Uplift Adoption Network is a non-profit organization which encourages adoptions, helps to remove obstacles and offers a network of ongoing support.
More than 150,000 adoptions take place each year, but there are still 127,000 children waiting for adoption in the U.S. foster care system, as well as infants born to birthmothers not ready to parent. ~ Focus on the Family
Who do we serve?
- Couples who may consider adoption and Adoptive Parents
- Provide Education on the need and process to encourage adoptions.
- Connect couples with a network of resources to remove obstacles
- Disprove myths and misconceptions which hold people back from considering adoption
- Connect with a network of resources to assist in the process, answer legal questions, and provide preparation assistance logistically and emotionally
- Birthparents
- Education on the process of placing their child for adoption
- Deal with guilt and shame of circumstances leading to placing a child for adoption
- Education regarding the honor and dignity of placing a child for adoption
- Connect birthparents with a network of resources to meet their needs (before, during, and after placing a child)
- Children
- Ongoing education for adoptive parents and children at each stage of growth on the unique aspects of parenting adopted children or being an adopted child.
- Connect adoptive parents with a network of resources and support groups
- Connect adopted children with a network of resources to meet their unique needs including the process of searching for their birthparents
- Organizations which provide resources and services for couples, birthparents, and children
- Develop a directory of vetted organizations including requirements and intake process
- Provide education and consulting to assist these organizations with efficiencies and raising awareness
- Create opportunities for joint fund raising events
- Raise awareness so organizations know about complimentary organizations
- General Public
- Provide up to date awareness on issues related to adopting, being adopted and issues for the birthparents
